HOW WILL MY MONEY BE SPENT?

70% of your sponsorship money will be used to supplement the day to day cost of the care and upkeep of the animal. This includes sourcing and preparing diets, health and veterinary care, enclosure cleaning and maintenance and record keeping.

30% of your sponsorship will be donated to an appropriate organization or group that is involved in the research, rescue or sustainability of the species or animal welfare in general. This includes the Australian Koala Foundation, the Wombat survival fund and the Tasmanian Devil Appeal.

Sponsor the Wildlife Shelter

Maru Koala and Animal Park is a registered Wildlife Shelter which rescues and receives injured and orphaned native wildlife. The animals are provided with health and veterinary assessment and care with the aim of rehabilitating and releasing them back into the wild. Victorian Wildlife Shelters and Foster Carers are all volunteers and receive no regular government financial support. The Shelter is financed entirely from the Maru business and sponsorship and the animals are cared for on a voluntary basis.

HOW WILL MY MONEY BE SPENT?

Your sponsorship money will be used to supplement the day to day cost of the running of the shelter and care and upkeep of the animals. This includes purchasing and maintaining specialist equipment and dietary requirements unique to hand rearing each species. You cannot actually see or handle any of the animals in care at the Wildlife Shelter as it is important to preserve the ‘wild’ state of the animal to give it the very best chance of a successful release back into it’s natural habitat.

HOW DOES MARU ACKNOWLEDGE SPONSORS?

All sponsors are entitled to our quarterly e-newsletter to keep you informed about the Maru and Wildlife Shelter animals and updates at Maru. You will also receive an information sheet with a photo of your chosen animal, or one of the Wildlife Shelter animals and a certificate. Sign up for 6 or 12 months sponsorship and we will erect a plaque on the animals enclosure. Corporate or major sponsors will have a sign board erected on the animals enclosure advertising your company and sponsorship. All sponsors will be invited annually to a special VIP function
