Maru’s COVID-Safe Plan
With the announcement of the Victorian Government’s Roadmap to re-opening, the requirements to entry at Maru Koala and Animal Park will be slightly different to how they before, however they will allow not just us, but the rest of the state to open up more freely in a way that provides safety and assurance to everyone.
We have provided a FAQ of some of the changes that will be required, and what some of our new Entry Requirements will be.

Are there any requirements regarding vaccination?
Anyone over the age of 12 years and 2 months will be required to have been fully vaccinated. The easiest (and recommended way) to demonstrate this is by using the Service Victoria app on your mobile phone to check-in, which our Staff will need to sight before entry to our services will be allowed.
Are there any requirements regarding masks?
As our Entry to our park is located within our Retail area, you will be required to wear a mask as you enter or if you are browsing in our retail items. As soon as you exit the building to enter our Animal Park or heading out to Pirate Pete’s Mini-Golf, or sitting down for a meal, you will no longer be required to wear a mask and can remove it.
These settings are in line with current Victorian State Government Guidelines. The next expected change to these guidelines is December 15th.
Are all of Maru's staff Fully Vaccinated?
Yes, all of our Staff have been fully vaccinated. The same rules apply to any of our volunteers who work in the park.
Are there any restrictions to Animal Encounters, Experiences or Shows?
All of our Animal Encounters, Animal Experiences, Keeper Talks and Wildlife Presentations will be running but there will be limits to the numbers able to attend at one time so that these events can stay COVID-Safe.
What level of cleaning is performed to prevent the spread of COVID-19?
Regular COVID-Safe cleaning tasks are performed regularly of the Park, Shop, Retail, Bistro and Mini-Golf areas of our park. For additional information, please have a look at our COVID-Safe plan which can be found at the top of this page.
Do we need to make a Booking?
Walk-in ticket purchases are welcome, but pre-purchasing your tickets using our Booking System is highly encouraged. As the state fully opens up and we head into summer, there may be times where our maximum capacity limits in our COVID-Safe plan are reached and priority will be given to anyone who pre-purchases their tickets in this circumstance.
